Ministry Teams are vital to the health and function of Fairlawn. Everything that happens at Fairlawn from your cup of coffee, to child care, to discipleship, is the result of family coming together to serve each other. We view life at Fairlawn like a family meal. We don't come to be served, but rather we are all here to serve each other.
Alive2Shine is a ministry of Fairlawn that aims to equip high school students to know and advance the Gospel” They meet each Wednesday from 7-9 PM. They do an excellent job of discipling our teens. If you have a passion for teens and mentoring, this team is for you.
The Community Missions team works to connect Fairlawn to different needs and ministry opportunities in the community. They have organized skate nights, and helped to provide resources to local families in need.
The Fairlawn Facilities Team’s purpose is to “Use our God given gifts and talents to provide maintenance and repair for the Fairlawn Church building”. The work varies a great deal. It ranges from tasks that are simple to more complex projects. One week might include changing light bulbs, and another week might be repairing a leaky faucet. The Facilities Team meets the 2nd Thursday of each month.
The Food Services team works to prepare food and a welcoming atmosphere at various church events throughout the year. This ranges from church celebrations to funeral meals. Their important work provides time and space for people to gather together to laugh, cry, and share stories over a meal.
You can thank the Grounds Team for the beautifully kept lawn, clean flower beds, and well maintained ponds. The team also works to clear snow during those rough Ohio winters. If you enjoy lawn care, flower bed maintenance, or clearing snow, this team is for you!
The hospitality team exists “to share God’s compassion and love through the gift of hospitality by caring for others”. The team spends time encouraging those who have experienced loss and sickness. They also make and distribute blankets to the new babies in the church.
The KIDs Ministry provides discipleship by introducing our kids pre-k through 5th grade to the truths of the gospel. Childcare from 0-2 years each Sunday during breakouts is also provided.
If you're in the medical field-consider using your gifts to serve at Fairlawn! Our medical response team is for anyone who's a paramedic, EMT, nurse, NP, PA or physician. This team helps at special events, and is present during services to respond if there's a medical emergency. An active state license and up-to-date CPR certification are required.
The Fairlawn Missions Team has the huge responsibility of advocating and promoting overseas missions to the church. They help individuals process the call to missions, they organize missions classes and seminars, they allocate funds to our various missionaries, and they generally keep the church informed and connected to those missionaries.
The Usher Team is responsible for welcoming people into the santuary. Whether it is handing you a bulletin, helping you find a seat, or offering a friendly hello. Their work is important in creating a warm atmospher in our worship gatherings.
The Woman's Ministry team organizes a variety of programs and events that facility the discipleship of the woman at Fairlawn. This ranges from nights of worship, to mentorship programs.
The Worship Team leads our congregation in worship through music each Sunday. Our bands consist of a variety of instruments and vocalists. If you enjoy singing and playing music and have a desire to point people to Jesus through those talents, this team is for you.
